“I am a qualified fitness specialist (Dip Fitness, Dip Sport) registered with Fitness Australia. I hold a level three Registered Exercise Professional standing with Fitness Australia, along with many other health and fitness qualifications.
There are many reasons why I developed the BreakthrU 60-day challenge. They extend from personal enjoyment in helping others while being part of a focused goal-driven environment, to wanting to make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of people over 40.
My goal is to help you reach your personal health and fitness goals in the most enjoyable and time-efficient way.”
Testimonials
In just 6 weeks Peter transformed my fitness level. I've made big gains in strength and endurance which have been particularly useful on long testing days.
BreakthrU provided me with a convenient and easy-to-follow program which allowed me to lose a few unwanted kilos. I was surprised at how easy it was to lose weight on the program, and its design is ideal for 40+ corporate executives like me who are extremely busy, sit at a desk all day and don’t have a lot of time to go to the gym. Give it a go – if you follow the program, you will definitely lose weight and start feeling a whole lot better.
I have always worked hard on my fitness, but since working with Peter, I have massively improved my results on the track due to his great training programme.
I did the 60 day challenge and I reached my goal weight. I feel great and really happy and I would recommend it to everyone.
Your friendly demeanour encourages me towards my personal fitness goals, and you produce tangible results through a personally tailored regime that forever changes with my fitness requirements. For all of this I am most grateful. Congratulations on your fine service and keep raising that bar.
Peter has taken my physical performance to highs I didn't think possible in the space of time we have been training. He is definitely a key factor for me to progress to the top of V8 Supercars!
I've trained with Pete Schafer for over 12 years, and can recommend him as a "gun" in his field. Pete has a great knowledge of physiology, as well as the methods needed to get people to be their best. The fact that I'm 57, and never been fitter or stronger, is a great credit to Pete!
Before I came to Peter, I was training in my local gym on my own, not really knowing the best workouts and program for my sport. Since I have been training with Racefit, I have achieved fitness goals that have not only made me fitter, but made my driving more consistent for a longer period of time.
FAQs
-
Will BreakthrU work for me?
BreakthrU has successfully worked for many people. If you stay within the guidelines and commit to the 60 days, it should also work for you.
-
Do I need to follow the BreakthrU excercise workouts?
The exercises have been specifically chosen to suit your individual situation. If functional movement is your preference or a weights strength program or even a cardio based workout suits you better our training app has you covered. The main point is that with exercise the BreakthrU 60-day challenge is greatly enhanced and you will feel the benefits more quickly.
-
What if the BreakthrU meal plans don't suit me?
This is a common question. Our meal plans are suggested guidelines. If you prefer a different food plan that’s fine as long as you eat within the BreakthrU guidelines.
-
How long will it take for me to start losing weight?
Everyone is different however most people start to see a fall in weight within the first 14 days. Some a bit earlier, some a bit later. It took me around 10 days to see some results. It is also worth noting that after the 60 days the weight will continue to fall for the next couple of weeks.
-
What is my healthy weight range?
Generally, a combination of Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist circumference is the easiest way to rate your weight and risk of lifestyle-related disease.
To calculate your Body Mass Index simply divide your weight in kilograms by your height squared (i.e. height in metres multiplied by height in metres).
For example, a person who is 1.64m tall and weighs 73kg can calculate their BMI using the following equation:
- Weight = 73kg
- Height = 1.64m
- BMI = 73 / (1.64 x 1.64)
- BMI = 27
- BMI between 18.5 -24.9 is considered normal / healthy. You need to remember that BMI will tend to overestimate body fat in people who have a muscular build. It may also underestimate body fat in older persons and others who have lost muscle mass.
Waist circumference, (regardless of height) is a good indicator of visceral (tummy) fat and risk of lifestyle-related disease.
According to the National Health and Medical Research Council Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Overweight and Obesity in Adults, waist circumference above the following values increases an individual’s risk of developing an adverse health outcome: - Waist circumference of more than 94cm (men) and more than 80cm (women) = increased risk of metabolic complication.
- Waist circumference of more than 102cm (men) and more than 88cm (women) = substantially increased risk of metabolic complication.
-
Should I continue with the BreakthrU programme if I have not hit my healthy weight range within 60 days?
I have some clients that had not reached their healthy weight range after the 60-day challenge. In most cases they have continued with the guidelines for an additional period without any issues.
-
I am under 40. Will BreakthrU still work for me?
The simple answer is yes. Some clients in their 20s have experienced excellent results.
-
Why is BreakthrU different from other weight-loss programmes?
BreakthrU is different in that it allows you to still enjoy eating each day food that you like. It combines many different strategies that when applied in the BreakthrU 60-day challenge will lead to weight loss in a controlled and measurable way.
-
Is the BreakthrU challenge a one-off approach?
It can be. For some the opportunity to drop unwanted and unhealthy body fat is the main goal and when reached they achieve their goal. Others have used BreakthrU as a springboard to continue with exercise and different eating plans and ideas.
-
